Kura Sushi Teams up With Pokémon

Japan’s second-largest conveyor belt sushi chain, Kura Sushi, recently partnered with one of the world’s most beloved franchises, Pokémon. This special campaign was themed around Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the ninth generation of the hit video game series, and ran from March 7 to April 17, 2025.

The featured collaboration plates include the Scream Tail Shrimp Tempura Crepe Handroll, the Iron Valiant Peach Melon Soda, and Pikachu’s Nuzzle Roll Cake. Pikachu’s Nuzzle Roll Cake also comes with a random sticker, with 23 different types to collect.

We ordered various dishes from the regular menu, including udon, shrimp udon, natto, fried shrimp, fried tuna, and several other items.

The table has a slot for sliding your used plates. After inserting 5 plates, a mini-game starts on the table’s screen. Winning the game rewards the customer with a small prize, such as capsule toys or other collectibles. This time, the prize was a random Pokémon ball with a magnet, keychain, or stamp.

If you’re lucky, you might spot some wild Pokémon making their way around the conveyor belt!

Additionally, lucky customers can win special prizes by meeting specific criteria. Customers who spend 2,500 yen or more will receive a clear file while stocks last.

The second phase of the collaboration gave customers a chance to score acrylic stands by spending 2,500 yen. The third phase featured a multi-sheet as the gift item.
