McDonald’s Japan and The Pokémon Company teamed up for a short but exciting Happy Set campaign, packed with exclusive toys and collectible promo cards.
McDonald’s Japan Pikachu Pokemon Card Giveaway!
The McDonald’s Japan x Pokémon toy campaign kicked off on August 8 and runs until August 14 for the first wave, which features four fan-favorite Pokémon toys: Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Mega Lucario. The second wave starts right after, from August 15 to August 22, and adds five more to the lineup: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Eevee, Mega Charizard X, and a mysterious secret toy waiting to be discovered.

As part of the celebration, McDonald’s Japan also launched a “Weekend Gifts” promo from August 9 to 11. During this period, every Pokémon Happy Set came with a special two-card pack. Each pack contained an exclusive Pikachu card alongside one random promo card from Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Ralts, or Riolu. All of these cards feature the McDonald’s logo stamp, making them a must-have for collectors. Gotta collect ’em all!

With demand sky high for the limited Pokémon toys and promo cards, McDonald’s Japan placed a limit of five sets per customer. Signs about the restriction were posted throughout the stores and translated into multiple languages to ensure everyone understood.
